What You'll Learn

This comprehensive course equips you with the essential skills to confidently lead abseil activities on natural rock formations. You'll master the techniques needed to select and establish appropriate belay systems and rope setups suitable for single pitch recreational abseils on cliff faces and other natural surfaces—all adapted to current environmental conditions.

The course covers five specialised units:

  • SISOABS001: Abseil single pitches using fundamental skills
  • SISOABS003: Abseil single pitches on natural surfaces
  • SISOABS006: Establish ropes for single pitch abseiling on natural surfaces
  • SISOABS009: Lead single pitch abseiling activities on natural surfaces
  • SISORSC002: Perform vertical rescues
