Remote Area First Aid - Group Bookings Only

This is a two day course designed to give outdoor enthusiasts (such as those who fish, bushwalk, 4WD, trail bike, camp) more hands on scenario based first aid training. You will learn the skills and knowledge to provide an advanced first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders and provide first aid to a casualty in a remote and/or isolated situation until the arrival of medical or other assistance. The content includes trauma management, injury assessment, taping sprained ankles and moving injured patients.

Course aim

Due to the practical nature of the course, participants are advised to clothing appropriate for outdoor activities.

You will be required to bring the following items:

Course Venue

The venue for this course is Unit 3/18 Abel St, Jamisontown.

Entry into this course

There are no stated prerequisites for this course but you are required to be 14 years of age and

·        complete the online training prior to commencementof the course.

·        attend all practical’s & assessment

·        complete at least two minutes of CPR on the floor

·        be able to lift and roll simulated casualties inpractical sessions.

ASSESSMENT

Assessment forthis course requires successful completion of:

·        pre course material prior to course commencement

·        a written theory test

·        ongoing practical first aid responses.
