This nationally recognized course Provide First Aid HLTAID011 (previous codes HLTAID003, HLTFA311A, HLTFA301C).  This course satisfies the Code of Practice – First Aid in the Workplace. Qualification is taken from the HLT Health Training Package.

Eligibility/Entry Requirements

There are no stated prerequisites for this course but you are required to

  • complete the online training.
  • print your theory certificate and
  • attend the 1 day face to face training and assessment session.
  • perform 2 minutes of CPR on a manikin placed on the floor

First Aid Management of a range of illness and injuries which includes

  • External haemorrhage
  • Fractures, sprains, strains
  • Unconscious casualty
  • Performing CPR
  • Using a AED
  • Snake, spider bites
  • Burns
  • Choking
  • Diabetes


Assessment for this course requires successful completion of

  • pre course material
  • In class theory test
  • In class practical demonstration.

(note you will be required to perform 2 minutes of CPR on a manikin placed on the floor) Please wear comfortable clothing to the workshop as some of the practical skills require you to kneel and lay down on the floor. For the practical assessment you will role play with another student as your casualty.
